Summertime - and the livin' is easy; You're probably already singing along, right? The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv and the National Choir of Ukraine 'Dumka,' under the direction of conductor Raymond Janssen, present the highlights from the world-famous masterpiece Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin in Eindhoven. Porgy and Bess is considered a landmark work in American music history due to its innovative blend of jazz, blues, and classical music. In October, The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv and the National Choir of Ukraine 'Dumka' will bring this masterpiece to the stages of five Dutch concert halls. A total of over 140 young, talented, and passionate musicians, highly acclaimed internationally, will be part of this performance.

The opera is about the efforts of the black street beggar Porgy to rescue Bess from the clutches of her violent, possessive lover and a drug dealer from New York. Key themes include love, loss, social class struggle, and the quest for identity.
