Full halls, young audiences; the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra lived golden years with star conductor Lorenzo Viotti. The Viotti effect was unmistakable: he creates a communal, intense sensation during concerts. There is a sentiment around the orchestra, thanks to Viotti, that triggers something revolutionary. This is Viotti's last programme as chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Accompanied by Alexandre Kantorow ('This piano star is the real deal' - The Times), Viotti delves into the depths of Brahms. In Bartók's masterpiece, he lets 'his' NedPho musicians shine one more time.

This is Viotti's last programme as chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. The maestro, himself once winner of the Salzburg Conducting Competition, brings along pianist Alexandre Kantorow, winner of the illustrious Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, especially for this purpose. This young French piano soloist has rapidly conquered the world, soloing on all major concert stages. 'This piano star is the real deal,' wrote The Times. Experience one of this composer's most personal works with Brahms' First Piano Concerto. Watch Lorenzo Viotti let 'his' musicians of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra shine in Bartók's masterpiece.
