Some terms used to describe music don't really capture the essence. In the case of Cloud Cafe, the term 'grungefolk' does indeed get you quite a bit in the right direction. The quartet, led by guitarist/vocalist Tara Wilts, creates melancholic songs with a raw edge. The band's tracks, signed by Excelsior Recordings – a notable stamp of approval – evoke comparisons to the likes of Mazzy Star and Big Thief. Additionally, Wilts draws inspiration from artists such as Neil Young, Laura Marling, and Molly Drake (yes, Nick's mother). "Tender and dreamy songs that fill the room and make it sway," as described by 3voor12 in a review of their performance at Paradiso. During BRIDGE AROUND TOWN, they fill M with their delightful 'musical microcosm of everyday chaos and melancholy.'

Besides several ticketed concerts, the BRIDGE Guitar Festival also hosts a significant free city festival in the center of Eindhoven: BRIDGE AROUND TOWN. Spread across ten venues, over 50 acts take the stage during this event!
